An American red/amber ale. A moderate alcohol level and hop bitterness from American hop varieties, combined with a caramel maltiness, make this a tasty, easy-drinking “session” beer. Try a pint (or two…) and see why American red ales are brewpub favorites!

    • Rad Red Amber Ale
American Amber Ale combines the timelessness of European ales as well as the innovativeness of American breweries, making it a uniquely new world take on a classic style. Our Rad Red Amber Ale's extra hop kick takes this tradition of innovation a step further. Its solid hop presence, which comes from 100% American hops, is balanced by crunchy Caramel Malt, giving it a perfect amber color and chewy malt character. We kept the rest simple, using only Upland's own yeast ale blend and pure southern Indiana water for this drinkable yet refreshingly radical brew.

    • Magnificent Amber Ale
A particularly well-balanced medium-bodied example, the Magnificent Amber Ale pours amber to copper with a slightly off-white head, leads with a hoppy nose, follows with a toasty maltiness, and wraps gracefully with a noticeably caramel finish.

    • Brian Boru
Ireland’s first and last Ard Ri (high king) of the whole Gaelic race, Brian Boru was born in Munster, Ireland around 940. Brian Boru’s mother was killed by Vikings when he was a child. He spent his life uniting the Irish tribes to become the first king of Ireland only to be killed at Clontarf on Good Friday 1014 putting down a rebellion by the king of the province of Leinster. Brian Boru Irish Brand Red Ale is a very rich ale with toffee, caramel, citrus and pineapple notes. Brian Boru is brewed with several malts and Amarillo hops. February release.

    • Ard Ri Imperial Red Ale
Ard Ri (pronounced Ard like "hard" and Ri like "bee") means High King in Old World Gaelic and certainly lives up to its name. Like all Irish Red Ales, Ard Ri gets its distinct color from roasted barley used in the brewing process, but we've stepped up the malt and hops to make this imperial version of the style. Our signature St. Patrick's Day brew is slightly sweet with a complex malt character, balanced by a large hop addition to make it perfect for the big beer lovers and hop heads alike. Hoppier than its English cousins this American amber ale will have you saying “Jolly good show” when the maltiness rolls across the palate and locks fingers with the spicy hop finish. Hopped to the top end of the style, Flat12’s amber ale maintains its composed American character throughout.
